Biden Takes a Tumble
On June 2, President Biden experienced what may be the most memorable political gaffe of the year. While sending off graduates at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Biden collapsed to the floor as he turned to leave. This tumble was by far the most drastic of his presidency so far, despite previous incidents of tripping and falling. Secret Service and military members quickly rushed to lift the president off the ground.
VP Kamala Harris’ Favorite Holiday Meal: Word Salad
Vice President Kamala Harris served Americans a generous helping of word salad throughout the year. Her most recent stumble occurred during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” where she discussed former President Trump’s claim about illegal immigrants “poisoning the blood of our country.” Unfortunately for Harris, her attack on Trump didn’t land as intended.
“You know, every election cycle we talk about this is the most election of our lifetime,” Harris said. “Lawrence, this one is, this one is.”
Harris’ biggest gaffe, however, came in July when she gave an incomprehensible and repetitive definition of the word “culture.” Her confusing remarks at a New Orleans music festival left many scratching their heads.
‘Twitter Spaces’ Crashes DeSantis’ Campaign Launch
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a brave and potentially innovative move by launching his 2024 presidential campaign on what was then called “Twitter Spaces.” The highly anticipated announcement, set to be made via a conversation with Elon Musk and tech entrepreneur David Sacks, was plagued by technical issues. Mobile apps repeatedly crashed, and participants on the call couldn’t speak or hear one another. Despite nearly 700,000 users logging in to hear the announcement, the event was abruptly shut down without explanation. DeSantis’ opponents wasted no time mocking the stumbling start.
Vivek Ramaswamy Goes to the Bathroom
Entrepreneur and 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy had a viral moment on the campaign trail during an interview on X. Ramaswamy appeared in an X “Spaces” conversation with Elon Musk, Alex Jones, Andrew Tate, and Rep. Matt Gaetz. At one point, participants called out Ramaswamy for seemingly taking his phone into the restroom. The sound of splashing water could be heard in the background, leading to a humorous exchange during the conversation. Ramaswamy apologized for the mishap, and the conversation continued.
