Biden-Harris Campaign Releases Ad
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have intensified their criticism of former President Donald Trump for his remarks regarding NATO. The Biden-Harris campaign unveiled a new ad called “Walk Away,” denouncing Trump’s comments as “traitorous.” This came shortly after the reported death of Alexei Navalny, a prominent Russian opposition figure critical of President Putin.
Ad Campaign Targets Battleground States
The ad campaign, spanning three weeks and costing six figures, will focus on battleground states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. These states are home to millions of Americans from NATO countries neighboring Russia. The campaign aims to highlight the threat posed by Putin’s aggression and Trump’s alleged support for it.
Biden and Harris Stand Against Trump’s NATO Rhetoric
President Biden and VP Harris have both condemned Trump’s statements on NATO as “shameful,” “weak,” and “un-American.” Biden linked Navalny’s death directly to Putin and urged unity among NATO allies to counter Russian threats. Harris, in a speech at the Munich Security Conference, criticized those who “embrace dictators” and advocated for a strong stance against authoritarian regimes.
Trump’s Defiance
Despite mounting criticism, Trump has stood by his NATO remarks, emphasizing the need for member countries to increase defense spending. The Biden-Harris campaign manager, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, echoed Biden’s stance, labeling Trump’s actions as “dangerous” and “un-American,” asserting that Trump’s loyalty lies with himself rather than the American people or allies.
