Texas Majority PAC Receives Over $2 Million in Donations
Renowned financier George Soros has been single-handedly fueling the efforts of progressive groups in Texas. The Texas Majority PAC, a key player in the movement to turn the state blue, recently emerged from obscurity. Former staffers from a failed gubernatorial campaign are behind the organization, which raised an impressive $2.25 million last year, according to a report by The Texas Tribune.
The executive director of Texas Majority PAC, Katherine Fischer, emphasized the need for more financial resources and staff to achieve their goals. “We need millions of more dollars and hundreds of more full-time staff to do this,” she said. The group collaborates with partners across the state to create favorable conditions for flipping Texas politically.
Soros’s Significant Contributions
Recent campaign finance records show that George Soros has been the sole donor to the Texas Majority PAC. His Democracy PAC II has contributed $850,000, while Soros himself has personally donated $1.4 million. These funds account for the entirety of the PAC’s $2.25 million in donations.
Furthermore, Soros has also provided financial support to other groups working to elect Democrats statewide. CTX Votes, which has limited online visibility, received at least $300,000 from Soros in the latter half of 2023. In addition, he donated $250,000 to the Texas Organizing Project, which faced criticism for its association with a criminal who committed a heinous act. Soros also contributed $200,000 to the Dallas County Democratic PAC and $100,000 to a group called First Tuesday.
Hispanic Republicans Face Opposition
Mayra Flores, a former Republican congresswoman and the first Mexican-born woman to serve in the House of Representatives, has raised concerns about Soros’s involvement in the Texas Majority PAC. Flores believes that Hispanic voters are increasingly attracted to the Republican Party due to its focus on achieving prosperity, securing the border, and prioritizing the interests of American citizens. She feels that Soros and the Democratic Party fear the rise of Republican Hispanic leaders like herself, who can resonate with and win over the Hispanic community.
Soros’s spokesperson, Michael Vachon, who also manages his Democracy PACs, has not responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
