Rising Popularity Brings Inevitable Criticism
Juwan and Chanen Johnson, a couple with over 3.1 million followers on TikTok, have found themselves facing the downside of social media fame. With their growing popularity, the couple has become a target for trolls and critics, flooding their comments section with negativity.
Initial Struggles and Finding Strength
Chanen Johnson admitted that she was initially more bothered by the criticism than her husband. Having come from a background in football, Juwan was somewhat accustomed to dealing with negativity. However, Chanen, new to this kind of attention, found it difficult to handle. She shared, “I really let it get to me at first for sure. But I started to just laugh at it. Like, I had to laugh at it or else I would just dwell on it too much. As I started taking people less seriously and realizing like, this is probably a 12-year-old saying something that they don’t even know what they’re talking about, it was life-changing for me because I started to just make it fun and not care so much. And it made me more confident to share more things and be more vulnerable. So, now we put our whole lives out there. But it’s the best.”
Not Famous for Football, But for Love
Juwan Johnson, a tight end for the New Orleans Saints, revealed that he doesn’t believe he’s famous for his football career or his TikTok presence. He humorously commented, “I always go to the airport or something, and it’s like, ‘Oh, I love your wife.’ And I’m just like, ‘Oh dang, I can’t even get any fame for being a football player!'”
Spreading Positivity and Giving Back
Despite the challenges that come with fame, Juwan Johnson expressed his satisfaction in being able to spread positivity. He and his wife have even partnered with Greater Good Charities and Hill’s Pet Nutrition to raise money and awareness for a noble cause.
Season Wrap-up
As Juwan Johnson wrapped up his fourth season with the New Orleans Saints, he had an impressive record of 37 catches for 368 yards and four touchdowns.
