Seminoles Fans Left Disappointed
The recent College Football Playoff committee decision to exclude Florida State University (FSU) has sparked controversy among Seminoles fans. Kirk Herbstreit, a renowned analyst, has come forward to defend the committee’s choice, leading to a heated debate.
Bama is Better, Says Herbstreit
Responding to a fan’s question on social media about why he had Alabama in and FSU out, Herbstreit was direct and uncompromising. “Because Alabama is BETTER!! Period!” he exclaimed. He further emphasized that not only Alabama, but Texas, Michigan, Washington, Oregon, and Georgia were also superior teams.
While acknowledging the disappointment felt by FSU supporters, Herbstreit urged them to question the conference commissioners and advocate for a change in the selection protocol. He reminded fans of FSU’s own benefit in the past, citing the 2000 BCS championship where the Seminoles got the nod over a formidable Miami team.
Herbstreit’s Stance
Solidifying his position, Herbstreit emphasized that he is not a member of the committee and does not have a vote. He watches games, analyzes teams, and offers his expert opinion. He clarified that his love for the sport and his dedication to understanding the process led him to question the commissioners during the offseason. He acknowledged that his opinions may not please everyone but assured fans that he genuinely cares about college football and wishes the best for FSU and their coach, Mike Norvell.
Orange Bowl Matchup
Despite missing out on the playoff, Florida State will face Georgia in the Orange Bowl on December 30th. Many fans believe that Georgia’s coach should have also been part of the playoff.
