Instagram Post Sparks Controversy
In a recent Instagram post, Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, expressed her frustration with the officiating in the team’s latest game. Alongside several photos of their children, she wrote, “Riding with 15 always,” referring to her husband’s jersey number. This is not the first time Brittany has taken aim at officials.
Past Grievances
In the 2021-22 AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Brittany accused the Chiefs of unfair treatment. The Bengals, led by quarterback Joe Burrow, managed to surpass Kansas City and secure a Super Bowl appearance, ultimately losing to the Los Angeles Rams.
About 11 months later, Brittany voiced her frustration once again when her husband was sacked by Houston Texans defensive tackle Maliek Collins Sr. She criticized the “inconsistency” of roughing the passer calls, labeling it as “BS.”
Redemption and Triumph
Despite the criticism, Brittany had the last laugh when the Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. This victory undoubtedly silenced the naysayers and brought a sense of satisfaction to the Mahomes family.
A New Challenge Awaits
This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the New England Patriots on the road. It remains to be seen if Brittany’s recent remarks will add fuel to the fire or if the team will use it as motivation to prove their detractors wrong once again.
