A loving bond
Former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his joy and love for spending time with his two granddaughters, Lyla and Eloise.
A weekly tradition
Schwarzenegger revealed that his eldest daughter Katherine and her husband Chris visit his house at least once a week, allowing him to play with his grandchildren and their beloved animals.
Animal adventures
The action star-turned-grandfather expressed his delight in watching his granddaughters interact with his animals, but humorously noted that they can sometimes be a bit spoiled. When he tried to get them to help shovel manure, they declined with the reasoning that they were not brought up to do such tasks.
A parenting influence
Schwarzenegger acknowledged how his parenting style had impacted Katherine’s relationship with her own daughter. He shared an incident where Katherine scolded Lyla for leaving her shoes by the fireplace, reminding her of the time he burned his own shoes in front of her as a disciplinary measure.
The joy of grandparenthood
Schwarzenegger expressed his joy in seeing his children grow up, achieve their goals, and now become parents themselves. He emphasized his love for when Katherine and his granddaughters visit his home, especially because of the animals, particularly a pig that the children adore.
“It’s really fun to watch and hang out with [Katherine] now and to see the way she’ll react to the kids because she is so great with them,” he said.
