Famed actor Nicolas Cage recently opened up about his Superman cameo in “The Flash.” Back in the 1990s, a movie titled “Superman Lives” was set to be directed by Tim Burton with Cage in the lead role, but it never materialized. However, a brief appearance of Cage as Superman was featured in “The Flash.” Cage pointed out that the scene in the movie didn’t match his original filming.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Cage mentioned that he spent only three hours on set. The scene was designed to depict Superman witnessing the destruction of the universe, conveying an emotional response. However, the scene in the movie was altered to show Cage battling a giant spider. Cage clarified that this change wasn’t made using artificial intelligence but was achieved using CGI technology.
Furthermore, Cage expressed his appreciation for the inclusion of the Superman costume designed by Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood for “Superman Lives” in “The Flash.” Atwood also shared insights about the design of Cage’s Superman costume and the cancellation process of the movie project.
Nicolas Cage’s upcoming movie “Dream Scenario” is set to premiere in select theaters on November 10 and will have a wider release on November 22. “The Flash” is currently streaming on Max and is available for rent/download on major digital platforms.
