Abscess Hinders Contestant’s Journey
One of the contestants of ABC’s hit reality show, “The Golden Bachelor,” recently revealed the health challenge she faced before appearing on the show. In an interview on “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous” podcast, the contestant, Goltzer, shared that she developed an abscess on her cheek just three weeks before she was supposed to go on the show. She described it as being “like a golf ball.” Despite doctors in Florida being unable to help, she traveled back to New York to see her dermatologist. With the help of makeup, she was able to cover up the abscess and proceed with the show.
Understanding Abscesses
An abscess is a common condition characterized by a pus-filled pocket that can occur anywhere in the body. It is usually caused by infections, according to Medline Plus.
The Journey of the “Golden Bachelor”
The “Golden Bachelor” for this season, Gerry Turner, also shared his experience leading up to the show. In an interview on the “Life is Short” podcast, Turner revealed the extensive process he had to go through to become the “Golden Bachelor.” This included taking multiple tests, such as his “first-ever” STD test, as well as undergoing various background checks and a thorough psychological evaluation. Turner emphasized that the vetting process for the show is incredibly thorough.
Despite the challenges faced by both Goltzer and Turner, they persevered and successfully made it onto “The Golden Bachelor.” Turner ultimately proposed to Theresa Nist, giving her his final rose at the end of the series finale.
