Photographer Alleges Assault
Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, will not face charges for allegedly punching a photographer in Australia. The incident occurred in February during Taylor’s Eras Tour in Melbourne. Photographer Ben McDonald claimed Scott Swift assaulted him as he was taking photos of the pop star and her father at the Neutral Bay Wharf.
Police Investigation Concludes
Despite McDonald’s allegations, the New South Wales Police Force confirmed they will take no further action in the case. McDonald reported the incident, but police did not release the names of the parties involved. Fans, known to affectionately refer to Taylor’s dad as “Papa Swift,” defended Scott on social media.
Swift Family’s Departure
Scott Swift left Australia shortly after the incident, and Taylor departed via private jet after completing seven sold-out stadium concerts in the country. The police investigation determined no further action would be taken against Scott Swift.
Photographer’s Response
McDonald, who identified Scott Swift from an online picture, expressed shock at the incident, saying, “In 23 years, I haven’t been assaulted and punched in the chops, particularly by the talent’s dad.” Despite the altercation, McDonald was not seriously injured.
