Tehran Streets Filled with Support for Iranian Attack
Not long after Iranian state TV reported the launch of drones and missiles by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, citizens flooded the streets in Tehran and other cities to show solidarity. The military action was in retaliation for the killing of seven IRGC officers in an airstrike that hit an Iranian consulate in Syria.
Israeli Response and International Concerns
Israel reported “very little damage” from the attack, with most weapons intercepted. President Biden urged caution and stated the U.S. was working on holding Iran accountable. However, the decision on retaliation lies with Israel, raising anxiety in the Middle East.
Life Goes On in Iran
Despite the tension, life in Iran remains relatively normal. There are no signs of war preparation, and daily activities continue. Economic concerns are at the forefront as sanctions have crippled the nation’s economy.
Iranian People’s Response
While there is unity against external threats, opinions on the military action vary among Iranians. Some express concerns about the economy and the consequences of a full-blown war with Israel. Iranian leaders have vowed to respond strongly to any Israeli counterattack.
